hi folks...i dont get it...i know that with a car disk brake, a squeal is actually a super fast vibration of the metal part of the brake pad when it contacts the calliper, which is why ya quiet the squeal by spraying something like "disk brake quiet" on the metal part of the pad prior to instalation.

but than why on my Savage:
1) does the squeal quiet down for stop signs #2 through at least #5 if i apply the brake very hard at stop sign #1?

2) and why does the squeal completely go away (for at least a day) if i spray this crap in a can directly on my rotor?

are bike disk brake squeals not caused by the same kinds of metal vibration as car disk brakes?

i guess i will try spraying the metal sides of the pads like i would on a car...havn't tried that yet cause i'm confused by that other stuff i mentioned above.

i saw posts on here about this before and i tried the suggestions about sanding the rotor but that only helped for about a day and then the squeal returned

so what now?....take the pads off....and spray the metal surfaces like on a car?

thanks..:)
